After a meeting with the Singapore Government officials, Las Vegas Sands Corp reaffirmed its commitment to the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort project which includes a hotel with 2600 rooms and a casino with up to 1000 gaming tables despite the economic downturn. The hotel will also have a sky park set atop of the hotel towers, offering visitors 360-degree views of Singapore's skyline.

Singapore hotel sector continued to show strong results from January to June 2008, The Average Room Rate ARR for the first six months of 2008 was estimated at S$248, an increase of 29.6% over January to June 2007. The Average Occupancy Rate (AOR) for hotels was estimated at 83% as at June 2008.
